Since the inception of the ministry, we’ve been helping and healing the lost.
Dr. Regina J. Nevels has dedicated her life to ministry, leadership, and healing. She served as a full-time Chaplain at Orlando Regional Medical Center, a level-one trauma hospital, for seven years. Six months into her role, she was the Trauma Chaplain on duty during the Pulse Night Club shooting. That tragic night taught her profound life lessons—she discovered her inner strength and deepened her trust in God’s guidance through life’s challenges. Through this experience, God strengthened her faith and relationship with Him, showing her that wherever He leads, He will sustain.
Dr. Regina is the founder and President of Mustardseed Generation Ministries, a nonprofit called to raise leaders from difficult backgrounds. Alongside her husband, Pastor Arnold, she established this ministry over twelve years ago, which later expanded into Mustardseed Generation Global Ministries, where she serves as Apostle and Overseer. In 2022, she launched Regina Nevels Ministries, devoted to restoring God’s people to their true identity. She is the author of You Are Not What Happened to You: Unmasking Your True Identity and a 21-day devotional series, Draw Me Nearer.
Dr. Regina’s leadership also extended to her role as Executive Assistant to the Director of Faith-Based and Community Affairs in the Detroit Mayor’s Office, where she built strong relationships within the faith-based and broader communities. She facilitated initiatives like the City of Detroit Domestic Violence Initiative and the Manpower Movement, aimed at addressing social disparities and supporting the city’s male population.
As the Regional Coordinator for the NAACP, Dr. Regina visited over 40 prisons across seven states, setting up NAACP branches within the penal system and organizing job fairs for ex-offenders. Her efforts connected over 1,000 formerly incarcerated individuals with employment opportunities, helping to give them a second chance.
Her commitment to helping the hurting led her to mentor and minister at Vista Maria Girls Home in Michigan, supporting young girls who had faced trauma and abuse by sharing God’s love with them. She also served in her church’s Caregiver’s Ministry, providing prayer and support to those in need of healing.
God took Dr. Regina on a transformative healing journey over 19 years ago, freeing her from addiction, depression, self-hate, fear, and destructive behaviors. She learned to see herself as God does—whole, healthy, beautiful, and loved. This journey has equipped her to minister healing and freedom to others through Jesus Christ, a mission she embraces wholeheartedly.
Dr. Regina holds a Doctorate in Ministry with a specialization in Discipleship from Liberty University and a Master’s in Pastoral Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary. She and her husband, Pastor Arnold, have been married for over 15 years and have three adult children, a son-in-law, and seven grandchildren (one deceased). The Nevels family hails from Detroit, Michigan.
